Volume one with 5 large folding maps, 27 full page engraved portraits and 7 full page charts. Volume 2 with 14 full page engraved portraits and a large folding map. In good, solid and clean condition. With occasional marks, blemishes or reading wear commensurate with age. The odd small marginal tear or paper loss. Some of the folding plates with the usual wear or tears to the folds else sound. Overall a nice set of books presented in attractive bindings. Rebound in half leather bindings with marbled boards. Raised bands, gilt lines and blind tooled décor to the spines. With gilt lettered labels to both volumes. With a binders ticket to the inner rear boards ‘Symingtons Bookbinders, York’.
