Description: INVREF#CL3 1948-49 W469 Exhibit Sport Champions Otto Graham QB Passing Leader. This set is one of the scarcest put out by the Exhibit Supply Co over its 50+ years of printing cards to sell in the arcade machines it manufactured and sold. Sports was actually a small portion of its business; many many subjects were covered. Sports subjects remain the most sought-after today, football & baseball the most, but shortly after WW II ended, interest in other sports grew and ESCO was there to meet the initial demand. This set was produced for two years, 1948 and 1949, and is one of the most-diverse multi-sport sets ever made. It includes players in the three major sports outside of baseball, and the top performers in a wide variety of activities, from bowling to boxing to tennis to track and field, from figure skating to horse racing to land and water-racing, and even a champion of marbles-shooting (which was a popular activity of the time). You are ONLY bidding on the Otto Graham passing leader card from the set. ESCO also produced the W468 Football set from 1948-52, and some of the players in that issue, using the same images, are found in this set, with confusion occurring with collectors and some re-sellers. However, this card is clearly different, with white text at the bottoms highlighting their accomplishments. Buyer pays shipping. See photos for more details.
