Description: This is a small yellow reclaimed book on Abe, reworked into a neat little journal, using the original cover, PH neutral bookbinder's glue, recycled book ephemera, and string-bound signatures. Total page count is approximately 60. Overall measurements are 6h x 4w x d. A tiny, thin journal for your bookbag or purse, with sharp corners and only a little softening. For the writer or sketch artist, there are plenty of pages that are blank or minimally decorated. Would also work well as a personal note journal, black book, poetry book, travel companion, general list space, etc. Fill it with a letter to a loved one! I find that people don't generally pull these off the shelf to flip through them, so they stay relatively private. ;) I like these for poetry journals, writing down quotes, musicians, artists, authors, movies, things to research later, passing thoughts, phone numbers, etc, and it's fun to go through my old journals years later to see what interested me at the time. This is a vintage book. Book corners are sometimes worn & lightly softened. Some pages show small wrinkles, holes, the occasional tear, aging spots, and unknown matter, but all of those are minimized in my selection process and I try to provide photos so you know what you're getting into. I also try to use pages that are of substantial weight, and limit my use of glossy or thin pages, so it makes for a durable writing experience and every page is useable. Sometimes you'll find printing labels on the glossy pages, so they can be written on, or voice-bubbles added to the characters. PAGES/THEMES: yellow, M, foreign language, sheetmusic, paper airplanes, war, bombing, history, St Louis, speeches, ship diagrams, topographic maps, Mt Jupiter, Collins Campground, Buck Mtn, 1919, Gettysburg, Letters To Ladies, blueprints, 6. Would be good for blackout poetry, as a rebellion to "history," or your own manifesto. A few pages of "wit & wisdom" were included, though definitely not all. There's mention of God & slaves & bombing, and this journal was made more for the purpose of protest, retalliation, blackout poetry, secret messages, etc, rather than an homage to any historical event. Words can be circled throughout to tell something subliminal. Still lots of blank space within for writing/sketching. This book has a library card pocket affixed in the inside back cover, for bookmarks, cropped photos, notes, recipes, or poetry in the works. This item was handmade within the last six months and has been delicately stored. My M/O: I'm a book surgeon and paper afficionado. I love rescuing old books that have been discarded/damaged/decommissioned and repurposing them into functional works of art. My goal is to save them and give them a new life. These take a lot of time to construct, and I try to price them accordingly. I take great effort to make each one unique, and sometimes themed (subliminally or otherwise). My stash books & junk journals make thoughtful gifts, as there will never be another that's identical. :) Please be sure to ask questions prior to bidding/buying, as refunds are not offered on these auctions. I always charge just a small amount for shipping and then cover any overages myself. US buyers only, please. Thanks kindly for looking, and for supporting an indie artist!
