Description: Vintage, rare, original Ormond Gigli Lithograph Print Ad poster featuring "Girls in the Windows", his most famous image. Created for his 1983 New York City exhibition. Phillips Art, May 3-25, 1983 New York City Phillips Art, Lido Beach, N.Y. 11561 Bottom left printed: c 1982 Arthur A. Kaplan Co. Inc. N.Y.C. VH – 7018 Framed. Measures: 16" length x 20" high x 1" wide. The actual photo image is 13 3/4" x 14 1/8". Gigli said: There were models, socialites, my wife (second floor, far right), the supervisor's wife (third floor, third from left), all wearing their best dresses. Women models and a Rolls-Royce to sit on the sidewalk in front. The building across from Gigli’s New York studio was slated for removal, and just after the windows were taken out, he somehow gained permission for his large group of models to gain access and stand in the windows. This photo was considered Gigli's crowning achievement, taken in 1960, and it is exciting, fashionable and editorial all at once. A search for a copy of this photo, even as an exhibition poster, will show that these are indeed rare and coveted pieces. Pre-owned, excellent condition collector's item.
