Description: ROYAL DOULTON THE HUNTSMAN TOBY JUG - EXCELLENT CONDITION. THE HUNTSMAN Toby jug was issued from 1965-1991. In excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or flaws. Solid black handle in the back, great colors and details - especially The Huntsman’s rosy cheeks. Beautiful glaze. Approximately 7.5” tall and 6” wide with handle. Toby jugs are character jugs, often depicting real/historical figures. Many are holding a tankard of ale, though this character is carrying a piece of rope. From a design originating in the 1700’s and a product of Royal Doulton~England.
