Ruth Falk (1923-2017) Listed Scandinavian female modernist painter born in Grenaa, Denmark in 1920. She was educated at the Jutland Art Academy in Aarhus and private pupil of Svend Engelund from 1950-1953. Ruth Falk primarily paints landscape and figure compositions, and her works are positioned as an extension of the figurative tradition of Danish modernism. Ruth Falk most often found her inspiration through her travels in Germany, the Netherlands and the Faroe Islands. Ruth Falk prefers to work in oil on canvas, but she has also done large works in fresco and cement collage. She debuted at the Artists' Easter Exhibition in 1950 and exhibited in Denmark and abroad.
