If you look at the picture, the red and yellow string are both the thinner size the size they came from rainbow originally. they are very easy to restring. You might get a different color, but the string will be the size of the original. the thinner size. THE WHITE STRING in the photo is thicker and heavier duty, it is thicker and more durable than the one that came with the machines, I feel the thinner string is too thin, I personally use the thicker string. If you own one of these cranes, you really need to have one of the strings inside the bottom of the crane as a spare for when it breaks, and it will break, this is not something you can go get at Walmart, Think of how much money you will lose while this machine is out of order. You cannot use yarn or shoestrings or yo-yo strings or package strings or anything else, look closely at the string on your machine or in this picture, it is heavy duty, high-quality, it is 200 pound string, look at the detail how it is made, it's made like a rope. It's good business sense to go ahead and buy one of these and keep it in the bottom of your machine and have it ready for when you need it, your crane machine is probably about 20 years old. The string is kind of hard to change, you might want to do yourself a favor and go ahead and print off a copy of the diagram here that shows you how the string is ran and go ahead and put that in the bottom of your machine as well with the string. You might also put a very thick wire in the bottom of your crane as well to help you run the string in those tight spaces where it needs to go along with a Phillips and flat head screwdriver.
