Description: 5 inches Diameter ⅝ inches High During World War II, The Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia had been converted to a 2,000-bed hospital by the U.S. Army. After the war, a well-known interior designer, Dorothy Draper, was commissioned to redesign and redecorate the empty hotel. This was the largest redecoration project in the history of the American hotel industry at the time. Ms. Draper loved to use large flowers in her designs and decided the Rhododendron (West Virginia's state flower) to be the center of the Greenbrier dinnerware.
