Description: #53 Iva from the 1952 Square Dancer series. A lovely, original vintage strung Vogue Ginny doll. The doll - Tightly strung, she stands without support and poses well. Clean, undamaged & odor free: she has bright pink lips, and bright pink fever cheeks. Her dark, purplish-blue eyes are stuck open Her lashes and brows are honey brown to match her hair. The thick, original Dynel wig is styled in two thick braids with swooping bangs. Each braid is secured with white satin ribbon. The wig's center seam is straight. The wig is tightly attached. The Outfit - The #53 Iva Square Dancer dress is made from floral printed cotton—green & pink on a cream white background. The skirt is lined with off-white cotton. The dress is trimmed at the collar and hem with white eyelet lace. Black satin ribbon threaded through a crocheted cotton ribbon circles the hemline. An additional black satin ribbon circles the waist and ties in a bow in back. Its hook/eye fastener is missing. The dress is not tagged, but it matches pictures of the #53 Iva as seen on page 83 of The Colorful World of Ginny by Barbara Clark. The dress is clean and crisp—no tears, stains or odors. The color is bright and even. She also wears a clean 1/2 slip petticoat. The petticoat may be a replacement. Iva wears a pair of shiny black leatherette center snap shoes (simulated to look like black patent leather) + a pair of clean white nylon knit socks that are neatly folded inward. The shoes have fuzzy soles, tight back seams and working Greek key snaps but the straps look fragile.
